Melissa joined the Commercial Litigation team of Watkins Tapsell in May 2014. Prior to joining Watkins Tapsell, Melissa worked as a Paralegal and then a Solicitor at a publicly listed law firm in the Sydney CBD for over five years, specialising in both taxation and commercial litigation.

Melissa graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in marketing and a Bachelor in Laws. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2010 and the High Court of Australia in 2010.

With experience in matters involving commercial disputes, employment law, building and construction disputes, professional negligence, corporate and personal insolvency, debt recovery and managing Australian Taxation Office audits, Melissa excels across a diverse range of legal issues.

In addition to being well versed in preparing for court hearings in litigation matters and being a proficient advocate, Melissa also excels in entering into settlement negotiations with parties, which has proven to be invaluable as an alternative to litigation. Melissa has assisted clients from the start of a dispute through to litigation in a range of courts and tribunals from the Local Court to the highest appellate courts in Australia.
